Fleur - de - Lys
Bowie
This spear point Bowie style knife has a blade made from
ATS-34 stainless steel.
It has a flat ground blade and it is 1/4" X 2" X 11 1/2 " and the overall length is 16 1/4".
It has been triple tempered with a sub-zero quench to a ~Rc 61.
The front of the oval double guard is nickel silver and has my hand file work.
The following spacer is brass. The pommel is 304 stainless steel and also has my hand file work.
The spacers in front of the pommel are bronze then stainless steel followed by another bronze.
The knife has a through tang handle and is Curly Maple with silver wire (.999%) inlaid in a Fleur-de-Lys pattern
with some border scroll work on both sides of the handle. T
he sheath is vegetable tanned leather hand sewn in a mahogany color.
The belt on the sheath has a Fleur-de-Lys pattern the same as the knife's handle.
COFFIN HANDLE BOWIE
Texas Ranger Style
The 1/4 " X 1 3/4" X 10" full tang blade on this Coffin Handle Bowie is made from A-2 tool steel.
It has been sub-zero triple tempered to a hardness of ~60 Rc.
The blade has a distal taper, a hand rub finish and is flat ground to the spine.
The spine sports hand file work from the guard to the start of the clip.
The nickel silver oval guard also has decorative file work.
The hidden bolt rivets and pins are nickel silver.
The customers initials are etched into the star escutcheon plate
which is stainless steel while the pommel is nickel silver.
The handle scales are premium pre-ban Elephant Ivory dovetailed into a nickel silver shoulder.
The 9/10 oz. hand stitched, cross draw leather sheath is dyed in the British Tan color.
The sheath has an silver plated replica of a Texas Ranger badge
on the front and the bolts at the top are embossed and silver plated.
The sheaths main front body has my pebble finish. The embossed snap is also silver plated.
BUCKEYE BOWIE
The flat ground blade of D-2 tool steel is 5/16” X 2” X 11”.
It has been sub-zero quenched and triple tempered to ~ Rc 60.
he blade finish is a hand rubbed satin. The choil is a hand filed straight cut.
The top of the spine sports my hand filework in a vine pattern.
The "S" guard is 416 stainless steel and has my filework on each of the guard ends.
The spacers following the guard on the through tang Bowie are bronze
followed by handle sections of Fossil Walrus Tusk.
The handle is made from California Buckeye Burl completely stabilized by myself.
This Bowie is my first Bowie with the Buckeye Burl.
That wood has become a top wood with me because of the high natural figure.
The color is natural, Mother Nature at work.
The spacer before the pommel is bronze and fossil Walrus

The sheath is 7/8 oz. vegetable tanned leather dyed in a black color.
The sheath is hand sewn in a saddle stitch by me.
The front of the concho has a silver turquoise pattern with a Buckeye Burl background. T
he four fasteners at the top of the sheath are embossed and nickel silver.
The top of the sheath has a pebble background and the bottom border is hand sewn Elk sinew.
RIFLE BOWIE
The blade on the RIFLE BOWIE is 5/16" X 1 3/4" X 10" of D-2 tool steel.
he blade has been subzero triple tempered to a Rc of 60/61.
The back of the blade has my vine file work and a false edge.
The blade is flat ground. The handle is premium Desert Ironwood and has a slight palm swell.
The guard is oval and is nickel silver as is the butt cap.
The front spacers are red fiber and stainless steel as are the back.
The large spacer is fossil Walrus tusk several thousand years old.
This sheath is a cross draw model. The hand sewn 8/9 oz. leather sheath has a pebble finish and is saddle tan in color.
The top of the sheath has a chevron cap and the escutcheon plate for the coin is nickel silver.
This particular coin is a 1830 VF bust half dollar. The coin was supplied by the owner.
Comanchero
BOWIE
The Comanchero were white men in northern and central New Mexico
who conducted trade for a living with the nomadic plains tribes, often at designated areas.
They were so named because the Comanche's in whose territory they traded, were considered their best customers.
The flat ground blade of D-2 tool steel is 5/16” X 2” X 10 1/2”.
It has been sub-zero quenched and triple tempered to ~ Rc 60.
The blade finish is a hand rubbed satin.
he choil is my broken heart design. The top of the spine sports my hand filework in a vine pattern.
The double guard is 416 stainless steel and has my filework in a rope pattern on the front edge.
The spacers following the guard on the full tang Bowie are bronze and 416 stainless steel.
The following handle sections are Fossil Walrus Tusk,
Mammoth Ivory married to Fossil Walrus Tusk and Fossil Walrus Tusk.
The spacer before the pommel is bronze.
The handle pins are 3/32” nickel silver in the Mammoth Ivory and bronze in the Fossil Walrus Tusk.
The pommel is 416 stainless steel with a rope pattern filework.
The sheath is 7/8 oz. vegetable tanned leather dyed in a mahogany color.
The sheath is hand sewn in a saddle stitch by me.
The longhorn concho has a rope pattern border. The four fasteners at the top of the sheath are embossed and brass.
The concho at the sheath center is nickel/silver plated with Fossil Walrus background hand filed by me.
The background is the tusk that is used in the handle.
CALIFORNIA BUCKEYE BURL
This Bowie is made from D2 tool steel and the blade is .245" X
2.0" X 10.5".
The overall length is 15.5". The blade is Cannell ground.
It has been sub-zero quenched with a triple temper to ~Rc 60.
The spine of the Bowie has hand filework.
The choil pattern is a simple scroll pattern.
The guard is oval and is fileworked on the side, top and bottom.
The guard is sand blasted both front and back.
The handle starts with bronze, stainless steel and bronze followed by
Stabilized Loctite Resinol 90C California Buckeye Burl and bronze.
The stabilizing was done by my with my stabilizing system.
The pommel is hand filed in a rope pattern.
The black leather sheath is hand sewn by me and has a California Buckeye Burl concho.
